What GPPKM is 01

A registered trade association

GPPKM (Gabungan Persatuan Peniaga Kunci Malaysia) is a registered national trade association for the locksmith trade, registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (ROS no. PPM-007-10-17042016). We set voluntary standards, run industry events and training, and maintain a member registry that the public and authorities can use to confirm membership.

What GPPKM is not 02

To avoid any confusion, GPPKM:

  • is not a government agency, regulator or licensing authority, and does not issue government locksmith licences;
  • does not dispatch jobs or take payment for locksmith jobs;
  • does not set or guarantee locksmith prices;
  • does not guarantee any individual member's availability, conduct or the outcome of their work;
  • is not the police — it cooperates with the Royal Malaysia Police on public-safety education only.

Our relationship with MyLock.my

We disclose this in full, because neutrality is the whole point of a trade association.

MyLock.my is a separate, commercial locksmith-dispatch platform operated by Inpixel Marketing. GPPKM and MyLock.my share a founder — Vince Tan, who also serves on GPPKM's council — and that affiliation is stated here openly rather than hidden.

How the two stay independent

  • GPPKM is informational & verification; MyLock.my is transactional & dispatch — separate roles, separate entities.
  • GPPKM membership is open to all qualifying locksmiths, whether or not they use MyLock.my.
  • GPPKM earns no dispatch fees and does not rank or favour members by MyLock participation.

 

  • Standards, the registry and verification are applied equally to every member.
  • Any link to MyLock.my from this site is a disclosed affiliate reference (marked nofollow / sponsored), not an endorsement of price or outcome.
  • GPPKM pages carry no commercial "book now" calls — hiring decisions stay with the consumer.
What a listing means 04

Membership & verification

A GPPKM membership listing confirms association membership only. It is not a government licence, police clearance or background guarantee; it is not proof of current availability, not a price guide, and not a guarantee of any individual's work or conduct. Always verify identity and agree the scope and price directly with the locksmith before any work begins. For lock-opening work, a reputable locksmith should request proof of ownership (e.g. IC / vehicle ownership).

Use of the GPPKM name

Only current members in good standing may state GPPKM membership or display the GPPKM badge, and only to indicate membership — never to imply a government licence or regulatory approval. Suspected misuse of the GPPKM name, logo or a member ID can be reported to us.

Conduct & complaints 06

Standards & reporting

Members are expected to operate lawfully and ethically. To raise a complaint, report a scam, or flag misuse of a GPPKM member ID, please contact GPPKM. We review reports and may suspend membership where standards are breached.
